Integrated territorial development strategy of the Partnerstvo pre MAS Terchovská dolina civic association

„Both traditionally and innovatively, for the young and the old and in summer as well as in winter in the Terchovská dolina valley“

The existing economic structure of the Terchovská dolina micro-region is a result of a long historical development that has not brought any dramatic or extreme changes in farming and local economy over time; a number of municipalities have maintained their typical agricultural character. Following the Slovak trend from the most recent years, some new and positive tendencies have appeared in the micro-region, such as arrival of foreign investors and companies. The most significant was the decision of a major overseas automotive producer to build a large plant in the region that, in turn, led to arrival of other secondary investments, most of which are located in the territory of the concerned LAG.  

Establishing of the civic association (Partnerstvo pre MAS Terchovská dolina) with its objectives and plans is evidence and simultaneously fulfilment of EU rural policy priorities attempting for better administration of rural assets and countryside as such. The project succeeded in bringing together such target groups and communities that had previously existed next to each other but had never worked in partnership on mutually shared projects. Realisation of the LEADER approach in our rural environment will contribute to mutual cooperation and bring new stimuli helping us generate new jobs and opportunities in the future while complying with objectives of sustainable development.

VISION OF LAG

“OZ Partnerstvo pre MAS Terchovská dolina shall create attractive environment for the local population offering enough opportunities for work, decent life and housing and meaningful leisure activities. The territory shall moreover provide sufficient social, technical and other infrastructure making it an attractive location for relaxation while maintaining the character of the landscape and complying with the value of sustainable quality of environment”
